# Set Up the Applications Module for Sixth-Form Admissions

> Enable the Applications module, configure your sixth-form course list, and start collecting applications from external and internal students.

Enable the Applications module to start collecting sixth-form applications from both external candidates and your current students.

<Note>Initial setup requires Administrator access.</Note>

## Quick Start

<Steps>
  <Step title="Enable the module">
    Go to **Administration > Modules** and enable **Applications**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Assign an Applications Manager">
    Go to **Administration > Users** and assign the Applications Manager role to one or more members of staff.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the module">
    Reload the page and select **Applications** from the sidebar.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Configure your course list">
    Add the subjects and courses available in your sixth form so that applicants can select from them.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Share the application link">
    Share the application form URL with prospective students — for example, via your school website, at your open evening, or by email.
  </Step>

## Managing Applications

* View all received applications in the Applications dashboard.
* Filter by subject to see demand for specific courses.
* Contact applicants directly from the system.

## Internal Student Preferences

* Internal students receive a link to record their course preferences without completing a full application.
* Their preferences appear alongside external applications in the same planning view.

<Tip>Review aggregate course preferences before making offers — this helps with curriculum planning and ensures you can staff all courses being offered.</Tip>
