# Applications: Manage Sixth-Form Applications and Course Preferences

> The Applications module lets schools collect and manage sixth-form applications from both external candidates and internal students, supporting enrolment and curriculum planning.

Managing sixth-form applications — from open evenings through to course allocation — involves collecting information from a large number of students at once. The Applications module handles both external applicants and internal students, supporting your marketing, enrolment, and curriculum planning all from one place.

## Key Features

* Gather key information from external applicants interested in joining your sixth form.
* Accept preferences from current (internal) students — they don't need to provide full application data, just course choices.
* Use the system before and after open events as part of your marketing strategy.
* Support enrolment and curriculum planning with data on intended course choices.
* Easy social login or email registration for applicants.

## Who It Works For

* **External students:** complete a full application form with personal details and subject preferences.
* **Internal students:** log in and record their course preferences without a full application.

## Using Applications for Planning

* Review aggregated course preferences to plan curriculum provision before offers are made.
* Use enrolment data to forecast class sizes and staffing needs.
