Whether you are planning a school trip, managing a playground, or teaching a practical lesson, recording risk assessments consistently gives every member of staff a clear reference — and protects your school when accidents happen.

Key Features

  • Any member of staff can create a risk assessment.
  • Designated approvers review and approve risk assessments before wider publication.
  • All staff can read all risk assessments (unless marked confidential) and confirm they have read and understood them.
  • After an update, staff are alerted and asked to re-confirm their understanding.
  • Actions can be added to risk assessments and assigned to named staff with due-date reminders.
  • Approvers are alerted when a risk assessment is updated or becomes more than a year old.
  • Confidential risk assessments can be restricted to only those who need them.

Roles at a Glance

Risk Areas

Risk Areas are categories for grouping risk assessments — for example, Science, Trips, or Playground. Grouping assessments this way makes it easier for staff to find what they need and for managers to review related assessments together. Risk Assessment Managers create and manage Risk Areas within the module.
